Critical Business Feature Request: AI Credit Spending Cap & Owner Approval

Critical Business Feature Request: AI Credit Spending Cap & Owner Approval

I would like Hercules to seriously consider this as a priority feature for business customers. I am currently building a substantial ERP system on Hercules. I have already invested significant time, money, and effort into the platform, and I would prefer to continue developing and operating my system on Hercules. However, I have a serious concern with the current AI credit model:

As a business owner, I do not have enough control over my maximum development spending. This is not simply a request for cheaper credits. It is a financial control and budget governance issue. A business should be able to decide in advance: “My maximum AI development budget this month is US$300. Do not allow additional spending unless I approve it.”

What I believe Hercules should implement

  1. Monthly AI Spending Cap
Allow the Account Owner to set a maximum monthly AI spending amount.

  2. Hard Stop at the Limit
Once the limit is reached, additional paid usage should stop automatically.

  3. Owner Approval
Any spending above the limit should require explicit approval from the Account Owner.

  4. Usage Alerts
Notify the owner at 80%, 90% and 100% of the budget.

  5. Flexible Credit Top-Ups
Allow customers to purchase additional AI credits without being forced to upgrade their subscription plan.

  6. Project-Level Cost Visibility
Show clearly how many credits — and preferably the approximate dollar cost — each project or Agent run has consumed.

Why this matters

For serious business customers, predictable cost is essential. I am comfortable paying for a good service. The problem is not paying. The problem is not knowing or controlling how much I may ultimately need to pay. If I cannot establish a maximum monthly exposure, it becomes difficult for me to approve further development projects on the platform.

I still use Hercules because I like the platform and I am not comfortable moving my ERP to another platform at this stage. But as my ERP continues to expand into more modules, budget predictability becomes increasingly important.

I also do not believe this is an isolated issue. There are already other discussions in this forum concerning AI credits, top-ups and credit consumption. I therefore hope the Hercules team will treat this not simply as a billing complaint, but as an important business customer retention and financial-control feature.

My request to the Hercules team

Could the team please confirm:

1. Is a hard AI spending cap currently on the roadmap?
2. Can additional spending require Account Owner approval?
3. If yes, is there an estimated timeframe for implementation?

I want to continue building with Hercules. Please give business customers the financial controls we need to do that confidently.
